Banana ice cream with one ingredient only: bananas! Apple bananas are Hawaii's little tart pockets of love. Always trying to keep things local, we decided to make the goodies with our apple bananas.

We harvested a bunch of them from the backyard and they finally turned that golden yellow hue that we all love so much. The one thing though, is that when you have that many bananas, you're immediately faced with the delicious problem of figuring out what to do with all that goodness. I found an old Champion juicer used here in Hilo last month and have been in love with it ever since. Love of bananas + love of juicer = one thing...banana ice cream!
The ease of this recipe is mind-blowing. All you need are bananas! Just freeze several then once frozen, run them through your juicer with the homogenizing filter. What you are left with is pure, creamy, sweet, tart, banana soft serve. The perfect treat for these muggy days.
